HPCVL 2009 Science Fair Contest (.pdf)
High Performance Computing Virtual Laboratory (HPCVL) Special Award for "best computational Project".
"Computational project" includes any that incorporate moderate to significant computations in their preparation or final project (for instance, more computing than typing the project on Word!)
Each year the top students participating in the Fair are recognized. Awards presented include:
Best of Fair for each of the Gold, Silver and Bronze categories. In addition, a Best of Fair Honourable Mention award may be presented. These students represent our region at the Canada-Wide Science Fair in May.
Gold, Silver, Bronze and Honourable Mention awards are also presented within each division (Primary; Junior; Intermediate; and Senior), for each category (Computing Science and Engineering; Physical Sciences and Mathematics; and Life and Earth Sciences). Please note that the number of medals dedicated to each category/division is dependant upon the quality of the projects present and not simply on the number of entrants in a given category/division.
YSFC Awards are presented to projects that best meet the criteria for each award. These awards are coordinated by the Youth Science Foundation of Canada through their "Regional Science Fair Awards Program". This program provides the opportunity for Canada’s promising young scientists to receive the recognition they deserve. The following is a list of the possible awards for each FLASF. This list is subject to change depending on current sponsorship.
