The Frontenac, Lennox and Addington Science Fair awards the following prizes each year:

Special Awards:

These prizes are provided by local and provincial organizations and businesses. They are awarded based on specific criteria established for each award and generally have a monetary value. For the current list of available special awards please click here.


Peer Award:

This prize is awarded to the Primary division participant who has the most deserving project as voted on by his/her peers.


Category Awards

Where appropriate, honourable mention, bronze, silver and gold awards will be given to the most deserving projects in each division (Primary, Junior, Intermediate/Senior) of each category

  • Computer and Engineering/ Sciences Informatiques et Génie

  • Physical and Mathematical Sciences/ Sciences Physiques et Mathématiques

  • Life & Earth Sciences-Non Human/ Sciences de la Vie et de la Terre (non-humain)

  • Human Health Science/ Sciences de la Santé Humaine

Best of Fair Awards

Best of Fair awards are made to the five participating students in the Junior, Intermediate and Senior divisions who are judged to have presented the best projects in the fair. These students have the opportunity to compete in the Canada Wide Science Fair in May. They are awarded Gold, Silver, Bronze and Honorable Mention plaques and the Gold, Silver and Bronze winners are also named on trophies. The Gold award student additionally receives the “Stepping Stone Award” sponsored by the Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation, Youth Science Ontario and Youth Science Canada.
